Great news everyone! Snoopy, the innocent pit bull that was impounded and on death row because of another dogs attack on Snoopy, he is finally released! After thousands of signatures on the petition and thousands likes on the Facebook group, Snoopy is going back home and reunited with his owner! I signed the petition and liked the group on Facebook, and I feel like I have helped save a life. I am so happy for Snoopy, and hopefully the city of Deltona will not make a mistake like that again because no dog and especially no pit bull deserves to be impounded and almost put down because of false information. All the signatures and likes on Facebook has freed Snoopy, everyone who helped should be very proud of themselves because you saved a life! Your going home now Snoopy!

A 6 year old Pit bull named Snoopy was impounded for fighting with another dog Tuesday January 17, 2012. The owner says Snoopy was not the aggressive one, and didn’t start the fight. “I was really upset” the 77 year old owner said. Snoopy was declared a dangerous dog back in 2007. In the City of Deltona many people, thousands of people are starting petitions and a Facebook group to save Snoopy from being put down. The other dog isn’t in any trouble and i’m guessing its not a pit bull and that’s why. Once again a innocent Pit bull is being blamed for another dogs wrong doing. Snoopy is on death row because its a Pit bull, and for fighting for the reason of self defense. In Deltona any Pit bull  (aggressive or not) has to be muzzled at all times even in their own yard, which is also a problem, Snoopy was not muzzled but that has nothing to do with it! It was the other dog who started the fight and that was aggressive, not snoopy. If you want to help to save a pit bulls life then Like the Facebook page!: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-Snoopy/277697138951174

YOU can make a difference and can help to save an innocent dogs life and reunite Snoopy with his owner! Keep your hope Bob Johnson (owner) and keep your tail wagging Snoopy!

Why do children seem to be the victims of most Pit bull attacks? I read so many news stories everyday about pit bull attacks and a lot of them are small kids being the victims of it. There is a lot of reasons like the dogs were trained to kill, attack, socialized, or not even trained, but also NEVER leave a dog alone with a child, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT BREED. I once read a story about a Pomeranian who killed a child while the owner left the dog alone with the child for just a few minutes. It should be common knowledge that you never leave a child alone with a dog. No matter what breed, shape or size, you just don’t. Pit bulls do make wonderful companions for family’s with children! Pits and children go great together, however please make sure you socialize your pit bull and train and raise it properly because its possible to run into these problems. EVERY dog should be raised and trained, no matter what the breed. I stress this because most people think that only the “tougher” breeds should be trained and sometimes people are careless with training.

January 7, 2012 two Pit Bulls were impounded for killing a cat. On a Thursday morning two Pit Bulls were caught running loose and it ended up in them killing a cat. This is an actual case, which some what shocked me. What people really need to understand is that ALL dogs has the instinct to chase and possibly kill. Dogs are descendants from wolves and wolves hunt, kill, and chase their prey. No different from what dogs do since they are the descendants. Owning huskies, we have had to deal a lot with our dog Chimo, before she passed away (see blog post May 9, 2011) she would kill most rats and mice she could find, there was an instinct to kill and chase small animals. Never a cat though, she would have if she could. Their blaming these Pit Bulls for something ANY dog can do! If any dog saw a smaller animal running or walking or not doing anything then they would most likely chase it or kill it. Instinct people! Its in all dogs! People need to stop blaming a certain breed because of what they’ve heard. I’m sure most people have dogs that are capable and all dogs are capable of killing a cat, and it has nothing to do with a certain breed it has to do with INSTINCT.
